མཛད་ - to do - honorific

 མཛད་ mdzad and the verbal མཛད་པ་ is the honorific word for བྱེད་ byed to do and the variants such as perform, act, accomplish, action and so forth . It is used for those we consider beings on a higher level with activities and deeds these beings engage in.

For example, the Sakya Pandita four line praise has the following line:

།བསམ་ཡས་ཕྲིན་ལས་མཛད་པའི་སྟོབས་མངའ་བ། 

samyé trinlé dzepé tob ngawa
The strength that accomplishes inconceivable enlightened action.

Similar to the construct བྱེད་པ་པོ་ byed pa po, the doer or agent, you have the honorific མཛད་པ་པོ་.

དབུ་མཛད་ is the principal/main/head 'liturgy' doer, or the chant master in a monastery.

You see མཛད་ used in combination with other verbs, such as འཛོམས་མཛད་ - do destroy (even if it's common to leave out the 'do' and only use the other verb), and also in combinational words like this common prayer request:  མཛད་དུ་གསོལ་, please do, pray do it, let it be done.

More examples:

སྐུ་ཚེ་རིང་ཞིང་རྒྱས་པར་མཛད་དུ་གསོལ། །

kutsé ring shying gyepar dzé du sol

Enjoy a long, extensive span of life!

དུས་འདིར་མཛད་པ་རྒྱ་ཆེན་འགྲོ་བ་ཡི། །

dü dir dzepa gyachen drowa yi

And now in this age, through the vast sway of your actions,

བདུད་སྡེ་དཔུང་བཅས་མི་བཟད་འཇོམས་མཛད་ལྷ། །

dü dé pung ché mizé jomdzé lha

You are the deities who remorselessly destroy the māras and their forces.

འཁོར་བའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཀུན་ནས་སྒྲོལ་མཛད་པའི། །

khorwé dukngal künné drol dzepé

And you bring freedom from all the sufferings of saṃsāra—

ངན་སོང་གི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཞི་མཛད་ཅིང་། །

ngensong gi dukngal shyidzé ching

To assuage the sufferings of the lower realms,

[note the clever translation of using another word than 'do']

ཟུང་འཇུག་དབུ་མ་ཆེན་པོ་སྟོན་མཛད་པ། །

zungjuk uma chenpo tön dzepa

And revealed the great Middle Way of unity.

གཉིས་མེད་ལྷན་སྐྱེས་གར་གྱི་རོལ་མཛད་པའི། །

nyimé lhenkyé gar gyi rol dzepé

Delighting in the dance of the innate nature—

ཞི་བའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་མཛད་ལ་དགྱེས་པས་བཞུགས། །

shyiwé trinlé dzé la gyepé shyuk

Please stay here happy to perform the pacifying activities.

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་པར་མཛད་དུ་གསོལ། །

solwa depso chin gyi labpar dzé du sol

I supplicate you: inspire me with your blessings, I pray!

སངས་རྒྱས་མཛད་པ་མ་ལུས་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་ཤིང་།  །

sangye dzepa malü yongdzok shing

May I accomplish all the buddhas' deeds without exception.
