བར་དུ་ - bar du - until - temporal word
བྱང་ཆུབ་བར་དུ་བདག་ནི་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆི། །
changchub bardu dak ni kyab su chi
I take refuge until I attain enlightenment.
If this is written in Tiblish (same word order as in Tibetan using English words) it would look like: enlightenment - until - I - 'emphasis' - take refuge.
བར་དུ་ བར་པ་or བར་ also means between, midway, in the middle , as in:
ས་དང་ནམ་མཁའ་བར་སྣང་ཁྱབ་པ་འདི། །
sa dang namkha bar nang khyabpa di
Filling the whole of the earth, the heavens and space between.
བར་པ་བསྐང་ཞིང་བཤགས་པ་ནི།
In between, repair with confession:
You could even translate it as meanwhile, before something has been reached, such as enlightenment:
བར་དུ་བདེ་ལམ་གྲོན་དུ་བོས་ཟིན་གྱིས། །
bardu dé lam drön duwö zin gyi
And, meanwhile, to happiness and bliss:

chitar tuk gi bardu damchö zung
May I uphold the noble teachings until the end of time.
ཐོག་མེད་དུས་ནས་ད་བར་དུ། །
tokmé dü né dawar du
Throughout beginningless time until now,
བྱང་ཆུབ་བར་དུ་འབྲལ་མེད་རྗེས་འཛིན་ཞིང་༔
changchup bardu dralmé jé dzin shying
Until I realize enlightenment, hold me close, without ever parting,
འཁོར་བ་གནས་ཀྱི་བར་དུ་སྟོན་ལ་འདུད། །
khorwa né kyi bardu tön la dü
But continue for as long as saṃsāra itself endures—to you I bow down
གཉིས་མེད་བྱང་ཆུབ་བར་དུ་མི་མཐུན་ཞི། །
nyimé changchub bardu mitün shyi
While disharmonies are pacified, up until awakening.
བར་མཚམས་སངས་རྒྱས་བྱང་སེམས་རིག་འཛིན་དང་༔
bar tsam sangye changsem rigdzin dang
In between, buddhas, bodhisattvas, vidyādharas,
སྟེང་དང་འོག་དང་བར་དག་དང༌། །
teng dang wo dang bardak dang
Above and below and in between
ཐོག་མཐའ་བར་མེད་གཏིང་གསལ་ཆེན་པོའི་དབྱིངས༔
tok ta bar mé tingsal chenpö ying
Without beginning, middle, or end, it is a great expanse of deep clarity.
