Practical Update 2020

Looking at the postings done 12+ years ago, things have changed a lot. We do have Unicode Tibetan now available in all major computer platforms, even phones and tablets.

All together, while I will post new entries along the way, many of the old postings will be revisited with Tibetan Unicode and otherwise re-edited reflecting the current world. For example, the images used to display Tibetan text will be replaced with Tibetan strings. Also some of the links might no longer work so those will be either updated or removed. If I find errors and mistakes, those will of course be fixed as well. And sometimes rewriting a sentence so it's more readable is a good thing to do -- it's always good to revisit and rewrite material.

As for technology and learning material, compared with 12+ years ago we have much more available today for learning and translating Tibetan texts. As part of re-visiting this blog the intent is to go through the new tools with mini-reviews and also point at these resources.

Finally the web design, via new Blogger templates, was updated. This way it works on phones and also hopefully is a more pleasing experience. The top part now has Table content (TOC), Frequently Asked Questions page and also a new Resources page that will contain pointers to other Tibetan language tools and resources.

As Internet is more and more image-centric, many of the new articles will have a photo that might or might not be related to the topic.
