Tibetan Flashcards

Ryan McCormack sent me an email with a link to a project where he has built Tibetan flashcards. Check this out in case you want to use such a good tool for learning.

I've been using post-it notes everywhere, or small cards with Tibetan, sprinkled here and there. I used to have a small notepad with Tibetan, too. The computerized systems such as Ryan's, are very good as they are handy to have around and computers are good at repeating tasks.

I downloaded JMemorize and the Tibetan flashcard files. On my leopard MacBook, many of the cards have stacking errors. I also encountered stacking errors when trying to create cards.

The only Tib. unicode fonts I have are the ones that came with leopard (dzong kha, and bod skad).

Do I need to install additional fonts and/or keyboards?

-thanks/mike

I downloaded both forms of the flashcards and they are working great on my iPod. I haven't quite figured out how to use JMemorize yet. The cards there weren't displaying the Tibetan fonts (on JMemorize), even though I already have Tibetan Machine Uni installed.

Anyway, thanks for the interesting tool.

Lots of flashcards here! Does anyone know whether they are based on a particular reading/text, or are they randomly extracted from a dictionary?
